It’s the final weekend of August. Here are some ways to spend it.
Party at the Pier
The Riverlife Party at the Pier is Saturday at a new location – The Highline on the South Side, a converted train terminal. The open space encompasses a 500-foot long elevated park overlooking the Monongahela River.
There will be hors d’oeuvres as well as craft cocktails from Wigle Whiskey and brews from Sly Fox Brewing.
The event raises money to help complete Pittsburgh’s 15-mile, 1,050-acre Downtown riverfront.

Shadyside Arts Festival
Shadyside … The Art Festival on Walnut Street is Saturday and Sunday. The 24th annual two-day event features national and local artwork. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. More than 100 vendors will be selling art, jewelry, glass wear, clothing, wood items, photographs and more.

Squirrel Hill Night Market
The Squirrel Hill Night Market is from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The pop-up event is an outdoor street festival along Murray Avenue, Forbes Avenue and Beacon Street. There will be more than 75 artists from I Made It! Market selling posters, chocolate, candles, knitwear, vintage items and more. Live bands will perform throughout the evening. Food trucks will be on site and there will be activities for children.

Rock, Reggae & Relief
Grammy-winning singer Jason Mraz will perform at the Rock Reggae & Relief Festival on Saturday, Downtown on Forbes Avenue. The event from 1 to 11 p.m. benefits the Food Insecurity and Hospitality Workers Fund managed by The Piatt Family Foundation. It will also help the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s “Community Takeout” initiative, established in partnership with 412 Food Rescue. It supports Downtown Pittsburgh’s restaurants and their employees.
Other performers include The Wailers, UpRooted featuring Michael Gablicki of Rusted Root, and Roots of Creation.
There is an after-party nearby at Revel + Roost.

yART Sale
Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media’s 10th Annual yART Sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the front lawn of the organization’s Shady Avenue location.
It includes seconds, discounted work and supplies from 29 local vendors selling items such as pottery, ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry and glass.
There will also be studio tours, ceramics and screen printing demonstrations as well as opportunities to view the annual member and student exhibition.
