Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley are lighting up and offering gift ideas this holiday season.

Seven Springs Mountain Resort will present its fourth annual celebration Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 29 through Dec. 7.

Motorists can direct their “sleighmobiles” through a winter wonderland display of more than 1 million lights, according to the resort.

The Holiday Village and Springs Town Square offers a craft show with specialty vendors and artisans, the opportunity to decorate cookies and gingerbread houses, pose with Santa Claus and enjoy music from the Johnstown Symphony Chorus and the roof garden Barbershop Chorus.

The Seven Springs Express, a 43-foot-long holiday train, transports riders through the Holiday Village. At 8 a.m. on Nov. 30, children can enjoy Breakfast with Santa in the Grand Ballroom. Mrs. Santa will help them wind down with story time in the hotel lobby in the evening.

Admission is free, and the Holiday Village is open 5-9 p.m. Fridays and 4-9 p.m. Saturdays. The light display will be lit from 5-10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through Jan. 19.

Each weekend features an all-ages holiday concert, the resort says, including “Rockin’ Holiday with Joe Grushecky & Friends” on Nov. 29 and the Matterhorn Christmas party with Scott, Rob and Greg of The Clarks on Dec. 7, both at 8 p.m.

Nemacolin lights up, opens high-end shops

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will hold weekly Friday Light-Up Nights at 5 p.m. through Dec. 27.

The Fayette County resort offers a light show, live entertainment, food and libations, luminous installations and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

In addition to more than 2 million lights, a train ride takes visitors through a tunnel of lights, the resort adds.

Donation presentations include Project Bundle-Up, Nov. 29; Charlie Batch Foundation, Dec. 6; Farmington VFD, Dec. 20; and Animal Friends of Pittsburgh, Dec. 27, according to the resort.

On Nov. 29, the resort will hold a grand opening for its new Laurel Lane Shops, located within its Chateau Lafayette property.

In addition to offering womenswear from designers including Derek Lam’s 10 Crosby, Joie, Max Mara and Rag & and Bone, new shopping options include GlamourPuss and Linda Richards.

The menswear line includes Peter Millar, Bugatchi, Ted Baker and Greyson, and will add AG Jeans, Faherty, The Good Man Brand and Brax.

PJ’s Kids Store features children’s apparel and gifts from Jellycat plush toys and more.

As part of its new focus on fashion, the resort says it has donated $150,000 worth of apparel to the Fayette County Dress for Success chapter and to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

SAMA offers local art work for sale

The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, 1 Boucher Lane, Ligonier Township, is opening a new specialty gift shop, featuring selected items crafted by local artists.

Included are handmade greeting cards, pottery, jewelry, paintings and more, with items suitable for any holiday budget, the museum says.

The museum is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday.
