This year’s free featured concert lineup for the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival was announced Thursday.

The festival, running May 31-June 9 in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, will feature singer-songwriter Ben Folds, seminal hip-hop groups the Sugarhill Gang and the Furious Five, among others.

The main stage is moving to the intersection of Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Ninth Street, Downtown. Concerts are free and open to the public, and will take place between 7:30 and 9 p.m.

“Hip hop, jazz, Americana, rock, pop, classical and more, from Grammy Award-winning artists as well as emerging, must-see musicians — it’s all part of this year’s Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival featured music lineup,” said Sarah Aziz, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s interim vice president of programming and manager of DEAI initiatives, in a release.

Folds, whose career spans more than 30 years, is an Emmy-nominated composer and songwriter. He also fronted the alt rock-pop group Ben Folds Five, best known for its 1997 song “Brick.”

On June 1, the self-described “Texican rock’n’roll” band Los Lonely Boys, known for its 2004 Grammy-winning hit “Heaven,” will perform. The group has been together for almost two decades.

The Sugarhill Gang can boast the first rap hit in Top 40 history with 1979’s “Rapper’s Delight.” The lineup for its June 8 performance will include Wonder Mike, Master Gee and Hen Dogg. The Furious Five, with a performing lineup of Scorpio, Melle Mel and Rahiem, are known for “The Message,” a rap classic.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform June 3. Other acts included in the festival’s lineup are Pokey LaFarge, Martha Redbone Roots Project, Nicole Zuraitis, Ozomatli, Say She She and Doom Flamingo.

A production of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, the Three Rivers Arts Festival is marking its 65th event. It also will include an Artist Market, other performances in theater, music and dance, public art and more. Full details will be released in April.
