This is one time it’s OK to be messy.

In fact, it’s encouraged.

MessFest at the Carnegie Science Center on the North Side is Wednesday. The annual New Year’s Day tradition is in its 14th year and invites children of all ages to come and enjoy the first day of 2020 which will feature the slimiest, yuckiest, and gooiest activities.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors get hands-on with the gooey substance Oobleck, share their creative side with finger painting, and enjoy a pudding “Pi” eating contest. The “Egg Drop” includes hurdling eggs from two stories high.

Make sure to wear your oldest clothes.

Activities are included with admission.
