The annual Lawrenceville Art Crawl is Saturday.

After a week of sweating from the heat outside, take this weekend to sweat from concerts, monster truck rallies and dance parties instead. Here are a few ways to turn up the heat on your weekend.

Lawrenceville Art Crawl

Encompassing more than a dozen blocks along Butler Street in Lawrenceville, this annual event offers a look at art of all kinds right in your local community.

The route spans from 35th to 52nd streets on Butler Street and around 45 stops are participating, including Redfishbowl Studios, The Abbey, Bar Botanico, Millie’s Ice Cream, Rosewater Cafe, Spirit, Thunderbird Music Hall and many more.

Along the way, crawlers will get to enjoy work from more than 200 artists and dozens of bands, all for free. The main crawl will take place from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, but the afterparty at Redfishbowl Studios (which is ticketed) will have even more performers and go until 2 a.m. To learn more, check out the Facebook event here.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live

Those toys you pushed around tracks as a kid are now life-size — and coming to an arena near you! This Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live show is called Glow-N-Fire, and it delivers on its name.

Monster trucks appearing at this fiery event will include Mega Wre, Tiger Shark, HW 5-Alarm, Bone Shaker, Bigfoot, Gunkster and Skelesaurus. And don’t miss the pulse-pounding antics of the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Freestyle Motocross Team.

Shows will be held at 12:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at PPG Paints Arena. Pre-show and VIP tickets are available. To get yours, visit hotwheelsmonstertruckslive.com.

Jam at Grandview

This Saturday’s Jam at Grandview will kck off a series of Saturday concerts at the Grandview Park Bandstand all through August. This series combines the breathtaking Pittsburgh skyline, rocking music and delicious local drinks including beer, cider and wine.

The first concert — which will be held Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. — will be performed by Sunny Daze & The Weathermen, a group that combines psychedelic rock, punk rock, new wave and garage rock.

More than 50 professional and student actors will bring these new plays to life. Performances will be held Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Seating is general admission. To learn more and get tickets, visit ensembleactors.com.

The Wedding Party: Back to the ’80s

It’s wedding season! If you can’t get enough of drinking, dancing and celebrating love, this event at Botlerocket Social Hall in the Allentown neighborhood is perfect for you.

Not only will there be a real-life wedding band transporting you to the dance floor of a 1980s reception, Bottlerocket has also hired a cast of improvisers to act as wedding guests and interact with the party throughout the night. Enjoy the family drama while you dance the night away.

And, of course, there will be a cookie table.

Cocktail hour starts at 8 p.m. Friday and the band will start at 9 p.m. A DJ will take over before and after the live music, too. Get tickets at bottlerocketpgh.com.
