Latrobe Art Center is taking “A Walk on the Wild Side” with a new exhibition of animal art work.

Featuring area artists Becky Mormack and June Drexler Robertson, the show is running through Nov. 9 in the center at 819 Ligonier St.

The artists came together to create the show which speaks to their shared love of animals and nature.

“Our styles compliment and differ in such interesting ways,” Robertson says. “Visitors will experience a range of vision with this show, from sweet pets to wild nature.”

A free reception is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 17, featuring light bites and beverages.

A self-taught artist, Mormack has been painting animals for nearly 30 years and has shown her work both locally and nationally. She says farm life has offered endless inspiration for her paintings.

Robertson paints primarily in oils, with subjects ranging from the family dog to the woods to deep sea life. Recently, she also has ventured into human portraiture.
