Beginning Aug. 7, the Mattress Factory museum in Pittsburgh’s North Side will offer extended hours on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

New hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesdays.

The museum’s MF Café also will begin extended hours that day. The café will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesdays.

“Weekend afternoons are the busiest times at the museum. The additional hours on Sunday mornings will allow guests to visit before the afternoon rush,” says Mandy Wilson, director of marketing and communications. “Wednesday evening hours will provide an alternative to the weekend for those who are unable to make it to the museum on weekdays.”

The Mattress Factory has presented and commissioned new installation and performance works by more than 750 established and emerging artists, and has been hailed as the best museum for installation art in the United States. Its outreach programs serve more than 30,000 students, teachers, adults and families annually.
