Local poets will read works inspired by The Frick Pittsburgh’s “Maker & Muse” exhibition during an online session at 7 p.m. April 30.
“Ekphrasis: Poetry Meets Art (Meets the Web)” will feature Jamie Agnello, Valerie Bacharach, Veronica Corpuz, Jim Daniels, Karen Howard and Ellen Smith reading new pieces commissioned in response to pieces in the show.
“Maker & Muse: Women and Early Twentieth Century Art Jewelry” features examples of jewelry by makers such as Louis Comfort Tiffany and Charlotte Newman, and celebrates the impact of women on the innovative and imaginative jewelry of the early 1900s.
The exhibition itself was scheduled to close May 10 at the art and historical complex in Point Breeze, but will be extended if possible when the museum reopens following the coronavirus-related shutdown.
