The Westmoreland Museum of American Art will host its annual Big Art Party on Oct. 5. Here, guests at the 2018 event get down to the music of Ibeji Drum Ensemble.

“Peace. Love. Art.” is the theme for this year’s Big Art Party at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg.

Tickets are available now for the signature fundraising event planned for Oct. 5.

The theme celebrates “Era of Cool: The Art of John Van Hamersveld,” an exhibition running July 20-Oct. 20 in the museum’s Cantilever Gallery.

Hamersveld, a multidisciplinary pop artist whose career spans more than 50 years, is scheduled to attend. His works include album covers for the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour” and the Rolling Stones’ “Exile on Main Street,” and concert posters for artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Bob Dylan.

The exhibition will include a selection of Van Hamersveld’s album covers, poster designs, drawings, mural designs, photography and paintings.

The Big Art Party will feature food, cash bar and music by Them Vibes, a Nashville-based rock band with an R&B/funk-influenced sound.

Suggested attire, according to the museum, is “Ratted-up Beehives & Psychedelic Threads (aka Fun Cocktail Attire).”

A ticket is $75, or $60 for members. Sponsorships are available.

Proceeds support The Westmoreland’s exhibition and education programs.
