Photographer and illustrator Tom Gallovich of Vandergrift will be the featured speaker at the East Suburban Artists League’s meeting on Thursday.

Gallovich — author of “Power Composition for Photography: Develop Your Artistic Eye,” which provides advice for aspiring shutterbugs — is a former instructor at the Oakbridge Academy in Lower Burrell.

“I like just being out and about in the elements, and experiencing nature firsthand,” he said.

Gallovich will discuss camera functions and equipment, the film-to-digital evolution, composites, retouching and print preparation.

The presentation will be at 6:30 p.m. at Christ’s Lutheran Church, 5330 Logan Ferry Road in Murrysville.
