2Cellos bring twice the magic to Pittsburgh show
Croatian duo Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser dazzled fans of all musical genres with their electric energy and a pair of string instruments Wednesday evening at PPG Paints Arena.
The pair, known as 2Cellos, brought their “Let There Be Cellos” tour to Pittsburgh as they prepare to wrap up nearly 30 U.S. shows.
The musicians masterfully interpret everything from classical and film music to pop and rock on their cellos. The show leaned heavily on rock and pop covers including U2, The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, The White Stripes and Michael Jackson.
Concertgoers shared clips of the broad musical spectrum showcased by Sulic and Hauser.
The slow tones of this selection are filled with emotion.
Each cello playing a very different role.
Picking up the pace considerably.
Someone brought a Croatian flag.
Hey, those aren’t cellos.
The merch crew was hawking everything from underpants to skateboards tagged with the 2Cellos moniker.
Both Sulic and Hauser have played the cello since childhood. Sulic graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London, and Hauser from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, both in 2011, according to their website. They have been performing together since 2017.
