The rock band All-American Rejects took over the Sheetz in Robinson on Friday for a packed pop-up concert.

Joined by local Pittsburgh band Eyewash, which opened the show, the Rejects played an entire set outside of the gas station and convenience store along Steubenville Pike.

Just roughly four hours before the 9 p.m. show, lead vocalist Tyson Ritter first teased the concert in a TikTok video, which declared Pittsburghers should get ready for the next venue in the House Party Tour, which has included a series of pop-up and backyard-style concerts over the past three months.

In a social media post on X, Sheetz said, “Guess who showed up to work today? Second shift starts at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh!”

Known for their early 2000s hits “Gives You Hell,” “Move Along” and “Dirty Little Secret,” the All-American Rejects has four members — Ritter, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Nick Wheeler, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Mike Kennerty and drummer Chris Gaylor.

Eyewash opened the show around 7 p.m. and played for a crowd of roughly 3,000 people — containing children, pregnant women and people of all ages.

Bassist Rachel Hines said they did not even know about the concert until Tuesday, when a community event organizer reached out to them in an email.

“So many people were there that didn’t even get to come in,” Hines said. “People were sitting on the hills.”

Hines said that while Eyewash did not get the chance to talk with any of the All-American Rejects members, the crowd was dancing, sweating and crowd surfing.

Sheetz had tents set up with food and merchandise, Hines said.

Pittsburghers posted videos of the impromptu concert all over social media, garnering thousands of views.

The group had a planned stop in Hershey on Aug. 17. They are scheduled to be in Pittsburgh on Nov. 12 at PPG Paints Arena as a special guest of the Jonas Brothers.
