Pittsburgh's Yaro and the Static plan album release party at Mr. Smalls
Soon after releasing an EP in May, Yaro and the Static are back, with what Eli Yaroch calls a “surrounding, solidified band,” and their debut album, “The Art of Adolescence.”
The Pittsburgh-based alternative folk rock band features Yaroch, vocals and rhythm guitar; Aedan Symons, lead guitar; Mike Stolarz, drums; and Colin Frink, bass guitar.
Since the release of “A Letter to a Youthful Mind,” Yaroch says, the band has been playing weekly and writing new music.
They recorded their newest effort at Mr. Smalls Recording and Mastering and will have an album release party at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Funhouse at Mr. Smalls, 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale.
The featured single from the new album is “Divine Beast” which, Yaroch explains, is about a girl who “kind of haunts (a guy’s) head.”
“I guess it’s a song about finding your own voice,” he adds.
Doors open for the all ages show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.
