Bret Michaels brings his latest tour to The Palace Theatre in Greensburg on Nov. 1. He and his daughter lead the towel wave Jan. 15, 2011, before the Pittsburgh Steelers/Baltimore Ravens game at Heinz Field.

After years in the studio and on the road as Poison’s lead singer, and later venturing into reality television and country music, Bret Michaels remains a rocker.

The Butler native returns to his Western Pa. roots on Nov. 1 with an 8 p.m. concert at The Palace Theatre in Greensburg.

Michaels found early success fronting one of the most popular “glam bands” in the 1980s. The big-hair members of Poison were MTV staples with songs including “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Talk Dirty to Me.”

His most recent CD, “Bret Michaels: Jammin’ with Friends,” was released in 2013. Contributors include a mix of classic rock and country musicians, including Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Loretta Lynn, Jimmy Buffett, Kiss’s Ace Frehley and members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, according to a release.

After the MTV days faded, Michaels segued into reality television, with “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels,” “Rock of Love Bus with Brett Michaels” and Donald Trump’s ”Celebrity Apprentice,” winning $250,000 for the American Diabetes Association in 2010. He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child.

No word on what Friday night’s audience might hear, but according to setlist.fm, the “Unbroken” tour features some Poison favorites like “Unskinny Bop,” “Look What the Cat Dragged In,” “Ride the Wind” and a few covers including Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and the Kiss staple “Rock and Roll All Nite.”

Sounds like it will be “Nothin’ But a Good Time.”

Opening for Michaels will be country musicians The Stickers, also from Western Pennsylvania.

The band is known for songs including “Countrified” and “Girl In A Pick Up Truck.”
