Donnie Iris 'doing great,' set to return to Pittsburgh stage in 2024
Donnie Iris is returning to the stage for his first Pittsburgh concert in more than a year.
The veteran Pittsburgh rock band Donnie Iris & the Cruisers will play UPMC Events Center on March 16. The Vindys will be a special guest with more bands to be announced.
Iris celebrated his 80th birthday with a sold-out show on March 11, 2023, at UPMC Events Center but had to cancel more shows as he received treatment for cancer.
A post on the band’s official Facebook page offered an update on Iris’ health: “We’re excited to tell you that Donnie is doing great! No more chemo! Doctors do not see any more cancer. Such great news! He feels like singing!”
