Tickets will go on sale Friday as Dropkick Murphys and Rancid plan to stop in the area Aug. 17 as part of their Boston To Berkeley II Tour, according to an announcement.

The co-headliners will perform at Wild Things Park near Washington. The Bronx will be special guest on the tour that kicks off Aug. 10 in Minnesota and wraps up Oct. 16 in Los Angeles.

The pair of punk rock acts will tour together for the first time since 2017, according to the announcement.

“Can’t wait to get back out there and kick the touring door open again,” said Ken Casey, Dropkick Murphys’ lead vocalist and bass guitarist. “This is a great line up and we’re going to take the country by storm.”

Tours are being scheduled once again nationwide after more than a year without live concerts. Government-mandated restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic scuttled many live music dates but performances are returning as more people are getting vaccinated against the virus. Live Nation Entertainment reported the majority of fans were holding on to tickets for canceled events.

Small and large venues around Southwestern Pennsylvania are once again seeing dates booked for musical acts.

Rancid released its first album in 1993 and has had hits such as “Time Bomb” and “Red Soho.” In 1997, its members discovered the Dropkick Murphys, propelling the Boston-based band to success with songs such as “Rose Tattoo” and “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.”

Tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. Friday at eventbrite.com. The two headliners will rotate closing the show. Tickets will be $49.50 and increase to $55 the day of the show. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit dropkickmurphys.com or rancidrancid.com.
