Gabby Barrett to open for Toby Keith in Pittsburgh
Gabby Barrett’s star continues to rise.
The Munhall native, along with Clay Walker, will be the special guests for country crooner Toby Keith’s Sept. 27 concert at Pittsburgh’s Highmark Stadium.
Barrett, 19, shot to fame on “American Idol,” finishing in the top three two seasons ago. She has opened for Keith Urban, Daya and Cole Swindell.
She is releasing new music and hitting the tour circuit, including a stop on Aug. 3 at the Fayette County Fair prior to opening for Keith.

Barrett returned to the “American Idol” stage May 5 to perform her current single, “I Hope,” in which she wishes her cheating ex-boyfriend soon feels a similar sting from his new love. The song’s release earlier this year won her praise from former Idol mentor and singer Lionel Richie, and a congratulatory call from Urban.
