Recording artist Jeff Black will perform a special show at 7 p.m. April 29 at the Grande Hall at the Priory Hotel, 614 Pressley St., North Side.

Black, a singer-songwriter with over a decade of experience, released his 12th album, “A Walk In The Sun,” in January 2020. Produced by Black and mixed by Dave Sinko (known for his work with Chris Thile and Punch Brothers), the album features notable musicians such as Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Dave Roe, Jerry Roe and Kenny Vaughan.

Black’s songs have been featured on recordings by various artists, including Alison Krauss, Waylon Jennings and Dierks Bently. Sam Bush has also recorded many of Black’s songs, such as “Same Ol’ River” and “Gold Heart Locket.”

Seating at the Grande Hall is general admission, and a cash bar will be available. The Grand Hall at the Priory is an ideal venue for this show, as it rarely hosts music events. Attendees can look forward to a spacious, comfortable setting with free parking and actual chairs.

Originally from Kansas City, Black currently lives in Nashville, Tenn. His song “That’s Just About Right,”covered by BlackHawk, was a Top 10 Country single, and his “King Of The World” was a Top 30 country single. Boston’s WUMB listeners voted Black one of the top 100 folk artists of the past 25 years.

Tickets are available for $10 in advance and $14 at the door.
