Green Day are going on a huge tour next year to celebrate 30 years of “Dookie” and 20 years of “American Idiot” and they the are planning a Pittsburgh stop.
Green Day, with Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and the Linda Lindas, are bring the Saviors Tour to PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024.
“We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. So let’s thrash,” the band said in a statement. “We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!”

“Dookie,” the band’s breakthrough album, was released in 1994 and included hit songs “Longview”, “Basket Case”, “Welcome to Paradise,” and “When I Come Around.” It won the band a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album in 1995.
The band’s seventh album, “American Idiot,” was released in 2004 and featured “American Idiot,” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “Holiday” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” The concept album was called a “punk rock opera” by the band. It won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2005.
Green Day’s 14th studio album, “Saviors,” will be released in January. Two singles, “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and Look Ma, No Brains!,” were posted today.
Tickets for the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at livenation.com, with band presales starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 and Live Nation and Ticketmaster presales beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.
The band played last played in Pittsburgh at PNC Park on Aug. 19, 2021 on the Hella Mega Tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy.
