Hootie & the Blowfish bringing Summer Camp with Trucks tour to Star Lake
Hootie & the Blowfish will be back in Pittsburgh for the first time in four years next summer.
The band is scheduled to play June 29 at the Pavilion at Star Lake on their Summer Camp with Trucks tour. They’ll be joined by special guests Collective Soul and Edwin McCain.
Two-time Grammy winners Hootie & the Blowfish rose to fame in 1994 with their debut album, “Cracked Rear View,” which featured radio staples like “Only Wanna Be With You,” “Hold My Hand” and “Let Her Cry.” The band went on hiatus in 2008 but reunited in 2019.
Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticket Master. Various presales run from Tuesday to Thursday, with offers from Citi, Hootiefest Alumni, Collective Soul, Edwin McCain and Live Nation.
“Basically overnight, our lives changed when ‘Cracked Rear View’ did what it did — and yet as we quickly moved from vans and college bars to tour buses and arenas, not much else changed with how we approached making music and sharing it with our fans,” guitarist Mark Bryan said in a release. “Edwin McCain told someone at the time that touring with us felt like summer camp with trucks, … and that’s exactly how we want next year to feel, too.”
