Indie pop rocker Sombr should be feeling pretty happy right about now.
The 20-year-old, whose real name is Shane Boose, released his debut album, “I Barely Know Her,” on Friday, and his concerts keep getting bigger.
Sombr’s Late Nights & Young Romance tour will hit Pittsburgh on Oct. 5 — after several venue changes that keep getting bigger.
Originally slated for Lawrenceville’s Spirit Hall (capacity 500) when the tour was announced on April 22, it shifted a few days later to the Roxian Theatre (capacity 1,400) in McKees Rocks. The venue upgraded again Wednesday with the announced move to Petersen Events Center (capacity 8,000). Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday and mostly sold out by lunchtime.
“I can’t recall a show where I have upgraded venues twice, let alone jump from a 500-capacity room to an 8,000-capacity room,” said Josh Bakaitus, talent buyer for Live Nation Pittsburgh. “His growth is absolutely explosive.”
Sombr’s singles “Back to Friends” and “Undressed” gained steam through TikTok earlier this year, after his debut single “Nothing Left to Say” came out in 2021.
“I don’t eat, I don’t sleep, I don’t talk to many people,” he wrote in a Facebook post earlier this month. “My life is devoted to this music and serving you forever. Nothing else. I love you with my whole heart. This is just the start.”

The tour starts Sept. 21 in St. Augustine, Florida, and runs through Nov. 6 with a pair of sold-out hometown shows in Brooklyn.
