James Taylor postpones tour until 2021, including Pittsburgh show
James Taylor has postponed his 2020 United States tour dates until 2021, including a performance at PPG Paints Arena.
Taylor, with His All-Star Band and special guest Jackson Browne, originally were scheduled to play Pittsburgh on June 16. The concert has been moved to June 17, 2021.
Fans should hold onto their tickets, as previously purchased tickets will be honored for all of the rescheduled dates. Those unable to attend the rescheduled date should contact the point of purchase for information on refunds.
“Disappointing as it is to have to reschedule these shows, our first tour together, (we) look forward with intense excitement to next spring when, hopefully, we’ll finally get to set this thing in motion,” Taylor said in a statement. “We were hoping to reschedule the tour a bit sooner but the experts we consulted have advised waiting for a full year.”
Taylor’s latest release is “American Standards,” on which he interprets 14 iconic songs of the 20th century, including “My Blue Heaven,” “Almost Like Being In Love,” “The Nearness of You,” “Pennies From Heaven” and “Ol’ Man River.”
Taylor is known for hits going back to the early 1970s, such as “Fire and Rain,” “Sweet Baby James,” “Handy Man” and “Carolina in My Mind.”
He has sold more than 100 million albums and won multiple Grammy Awards and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll and the Songwriters halls of fame.
