Pittsburgh musician Lindsay Dragan will be the featured musician as Jeannette’s You Are Here kicks off its Friday Night Sounds series on March 13.

An open Friday Acoustic Jam is set for 6:30 p.m. March 6 at You Are Here gallery, 406 Clay Ave., Jeannette.

The event is free and open to musicians and music fans age 18 and up. All acoustic instruments are welcome, and keyboards will be permitted.

Musicians are encouraged to join the open “jam and song circle” regardless of musical experience level.

Music series kicks off

You Are Here will attempt to turn Friday the 13th’s image as unlucky on its head, launching its spring music series, “Friday Night Sounds,” at 7 p.m. March 13.

Pittsburgh singer-songwriter Lindsay Dragan will be the evening’s featured musician. According to her Facebook page, Dragan’s background includes a college rock band, arranging music for a sci-fi play, busking in a New York City subway station and appearing on seven releases including solo and band work and projects for hire.

Her site describes her music as combining the “sunny, harmonic gloss of the 1970’s Southern California scene, mixed with the Canadian indie garage-pop stylings of the (1980’s) and a large helping of the Rust Belt-informed Americana.”

Donation is $8 or pay what you can, and the event will include light refreshments.

Pennsylvania Council on the Arts is providing partial support for the series.
