Musician-songwriter Jim Brickman has a Pittsburgh date on his “Comfort & Joy at Home” interactive virtual holiday tour.

Musician-songwriter Jim Brickman will connect with Pittsburgh audiences via an online concert planned for 8 p.m. Dec. 16.

The performance is part of Brickman’s “Comfort & Joy at Home” interactive virtual holiday tour and will feature music from his new album, “Soothe Christmas.”

While dates focus on individual cities and many are presented in support of entertainment venues in those cities, viewers can buy tickets for any date they choose. No local theater is listed for the Pittsburgh date, presented by KeyBank.

Brickman is known for a distinctive style of piano-playing showcased in live concerts. He previously has performed in Pittsburgh’s Byham Theater.

Brickman started his musical career as an advertising jingle writer. He released his first album, “No Words,” in 1995 and has gone on to sell 8 million albums worldwide.

His songwriting focuses on the romantic standards genre, including solo piano compositions and pop-influenced instrumentals. His “Soothe” album series incorporates nature sounds and is often described as new-age music.

He has collaborated with music stars such as Martina McBride, Carly Simon, Lady A, Michael W. Smith, Herb Alpert, Michael Bolton, Donny Osmond, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton-John, Johnny Mathis, Kenny Loggins and Jane Krakowski.

His work has been recognized with two Grammy nominations, gospel music’s Dove Award and the Canadian Country Music Award.

Brickman also is an author and host of a syndicated radio show.

A variety of ticket packages are available for the Pittsburgh date. Concert only is $40.

A $75 ticket includes a Zoom meeting with Brickman and home delivery of a stocking full of gifts. A $125 ticket includes the Zoom session, stocking and after-show virtual party with Brickman.
