John Mayer is headed back to Pittsburgh — all by himself.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter’s “Solo” tour will play PPG Paints Arena on March 18.

“Just like the early days,” Mayer wrote on social media Thursday, announcing the tour. “I’ll be playing old songs. Newer songs. Songs you haven’t heard yet that I’ll be road testing — all on acoustic, electric, and piano.”

There are 19 arenas scheduled on the tour, with a March 25 stop at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. The tour launches March 11 at Newark, N.J., and ends April 14 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.

Mayer, 45, was last in Pittsburgh on May 5, 2022, at PPG Paints Arena.

LiveNation says the solo venture will be the first time Mayer has gone on the road without accompaniment. He will be performing his hits — like “New Light,” “Gravity,” “Daughters,” “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Your Body Is a Wonderland” — as full acoustic sets, with some “special performances” on electric guitar and piano.

According to LiveNation, two pairs of front-row tickets will be auctioned off for each show, with proceeds to the “Back To You Fund,” which benefits Mayer’s Heart & Armor Foundation and other programs that support at-risk youth and homeless.

Opening acts on the tour include Lizzy McAlpine, Alec Benjamin and a special guest to be announced later.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Feb. 3 on his website. Fans can sign up for an artist presale at 9 a.m. Feb. 1.

Mayer is scheduled to return to the Pittsburgh area on June 5 at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown as a part of Dead & Company on The Final Tour. He will be joined onstage by Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir with Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.
