KISS 'End of the Road' tour adds David Lee Roth as opener

Mary Pickels

Billed as the “final tour ever,” KISS will bring its End of the Road world tour to KeyBank Pavilion in Burgettstown next summer.

Opening up for the band known for decades of hits including “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City” and “Beth” will be David Lee Roth, long-time Van Halen front man before launching his solo career.

The show is set for Aug. 28.

The sometimes made up, sometimes not, always entertaining rockers KISS last performed in the area during a March 30 PPG Paints Arena show, also part of its End of the Road tour.

The initial tour announcement was met with “huge fan demand” for additional shows, according to a release from promoter Live Nation.

After selling more than 100 million albums worldwide, the band is dedicating its final tour to its “KISS Army” of fans.

The tour kicks off in Manchester, N.H., on Feb. 1, and rolls on until July 17, 2021, in New York.

Roth is a recent addition to the “last legs” of the KISS tour, according to the release.

The blond mane he whipped around so magnificently in MTV videos is long gone. But judging from recent performance videos, Roth, who is 65, seems to retain the sneer and swivel-hipped showmanship he became famous for. Post-Van Halen, Roth went on to enjoy a series of hit singles including “California Girls,” “Yankee Rose” and “Sensible Shoes.”

Tickets are on sale now.
