Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale has released updated covid-19 precautions via Instagram.
“At the request of the great majority of artists who are scheduled to perform at Mr. Smalls, all guests attending indoor performances at Mr. Smalls Theatre and The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls will be required to provide proof of covid-19 vaccination or a negative covid-19 test result, along with a government issued identification,” the post reads.

Some artists are requiring proof of vaccination only. A negative test result won’t be accepted. Details of those shows will be posted on the venue’s website and Facebook page.
The post said the requirements will be in place until there is a substantial decrease in new cases.
“The health and safety of our guests, staff, and artists is of utmost importance to us, and we are striving to maintain the safest environment that we can while providing a space for live music to continue to happen. We thank you for working with us to make this possible,” the post said.
On Facebook, the venue said some shows may include on-site testing.
“Mr. Smalls has arranged a no-cost on-site testing for walk-up ticket purchasers and ticketholders who were not able to reasonably obtain testing before each event where tests are accepted.” It also recommends checking on testing locations available throughout Allegheny County here because space is limited at the theater.
Mr. Smalls is one of many local venues that suffered significant financial losses during the pandemic.
