The Pittsburgh Irish Festival has extended its Live Stream Irish Music Series through May.

The series, offered in partnership with the Irish Design Center, has hosted more than 25 online shows featuring local musicians like Mike Flaherty and Donnie Irish, regional musicians like Poor Man’s Gambit and RUNA, national acts like Katie Grennan and John Williams and performances from Ireland with Shane Hennessy and Colm Keegan.

Offerings have been expanded to include children’s shows from Mickey Spain and Scythian, as well as comedy from Joe Rooney and Sean Finnerty, the first Irish-born comedian to appear on “The Tonight Show.”

”It is so important for us to continue furthering our mission while also doing our part to make these tough times just a bit easier,” says Mairin Petrone, the festival’s executive director.

All performances and streams will take place on the Pittsburgh Irish Festival’s Facebook page. The full streaming schedule and all past live performances are available on the festival website.

“At a time when work was suddenly canceled for all musicians, the Pittsburgh Irish Fest came up with a brilliant idea to keep the flame lit. The online series organized by the PIF allowed musicians to continue doing what they do best, whilst keep those at home entertained,” Keegan says.
