Nowhere Wolves
Post-punk rockers Nowhere Wolves will release a new EP, “Take the Honeyed Hand,” on Feb. 6. It’s the band’s first studio release, as the band recorded a live album in 2024 at Poetry Lounge.
“The new EP sloshes together facets of our current group headspace including funk, glam, punk, and folk,” singer/guitarist J. Trafford said.
The band will be playing an EP release show on Feb. 7 at Moondog’s Pub in Blawnox, with Dogs on Water, Two Wolf Moon and Bat St Chip also on the bill.

Paul Labrise
Paul Labrise’s lo-fi instrumental album, “Planet of the Love Guitars,” will get a vinyl release for its 25th anniversary, paired with a performance at the Government Center on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
“It means so much to me that Dunket Records is releasing ‘Planet’ on vinyl,” Labrise said. “This album has always struck me as a unique artifact, or an enchanted treasure, even as I was making it. It’s a complete thought from start to finish and there’s not a thing I would change. Continued feedback from people, even after all these years, means the world to me — and to the music too!”
Paul Labrise and the Trees will be joined The Long Hunt and brainstorm Sheen, with visuals from Michi Tapes.
Glass Caps
Garage rockers Glass Caps will releasing their first EP, “F.J.S.K.,” on Feb. 6, with a release show on Feb. 7 at Club Cafe on Pittsburgh’s South Side with FOAMER and Moontown also playing.
“This EP brings together four high-energy songs that meld the raw energy of punk rock with the campy sun-soaked vibes of surf, the grit of garage rock and a touch of psychedelic rock,” the band said. “Each song is unique to itself with catchy lyrics and powerful instrumentation that gives the listener the need to get up dance.”
Lorelai Paige
Singer-songwriter Lorelai Paige is marking the release of her new album, “Chaotic Brilliance,” with a Feb. 7 show at Green Beacon Gallery in Greensburg, with Maleena and Lounna also on the bill.
“I wrote this album about what it’s like to be a creator and the struggles and rewards that come with it,” she said. “It’s a pop-focused album with alternative rock influences that tell my story from drawing a blank to finding chaotic brilliance.”
Flashpoint Run
Indie pop band Flashpoint Run will release a new single and play a release show on Feb. 7 at Government Center.
“We are so excited to release ‘The Score,’ a collaborative, self-produced track inspired by the hypothetical conversations you play out in your head,” singer Danny Rossi said. “Our newest single fits right in with our eclectic indie pop sound from our previous two albums.”
Mirabelle Skipworth
Alternative folk singer Mirabelle Skipworth will put out a new album, “When the Waters Part,” on Feb. 13, with an album release show on Feb. 12 at the Roots Cellar at Pittsburgh’s Center for the Arts.
“‘When The Waters Part’ was recorded entirely live, with no overdubs, at The Sanctuary (the new Mr. Smalls studio) with lead recording and mixing engineer Branden Stroup,” Skipworth said. “The album thematically explores the cross-section between love, intimacy and religion.”
Spitbite
The noisy trio Spitbite will release their first 7-inch record, pressed at Hellbender Vinyl, featuring a pair of “outspoken” songs on Feb. 13.
“The band are proud allies of the trans community, and ‘Final Form’ carries a message of support and admiration for their friends and relatives in this group, while ‘The Bond’ is an admonition for those who ignore the warning signs of a dying planet,” the band’s Daryl Shawn said.
The band will play a release show on Feb. 13 at Government Center, with Threaded and Action Camp also on the bill.
Connie Roses
Hip-hop artist Connie Roses will release a new album, “Absence and Persistence,” on Feb. 17 on local label Delicate Cashmere.
The latest single, “Big Ugly Face,” targets ICE, while the album in whole “examines a wide array of problems in America — substance abuse in rural communities, political hypocrisy, individuality stripping away community — to recontextualize the (decay) of American culture,” according to Roses.

Death By Love
Death By Love, which blends goth, industrial and trip hop with heavy Middle Eastern influences, will release a new album, “444,” on Feb. 20 via Distortion Productions.
The band features Mace founder Peter Guellard in an international collaboration with Inga Habiba, a Polish gothic/rock vocalist.
According to the band, “444” is “a daring concept album that defies genre boundaries while plunging listeners deep into shadow and transcendence … (it) is more than a record — it is a ritual of survival, transformation, and paradox.”
BBGuns
The hip-hop duo BBGuns released their third album, “Rust Belt,” on Jan. 16 and will celebrate it with an album release show on Feb. 27 at Spirit Lodge in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood.
Height Keech & Cain Canary, M.E.L.T., Barbados Black and Slim Tha DJ are also on the bill.
