The Pittsburgh band 9sundays has been around since 2008, with the current lineup together for the past seven years. Their latest album, “Scream,” came out on June 4 and was a five-year effort, with an album release show later this month.

”It was a collaborative effort with everyone in the band and its songs coming from an array of influences,” guitarist Rob O’Brien said. “Songs like ‘Drag You Down’ come from a self-reflective perspective of your own toxic traits.”

“Or ‘Paradise is Burning’ celebrates the fall of a fictitious unhealthy relationship,” singer Kevin Uhrig added. “Letting go of demons you’ve held on to for far too long long like in ‘This is the Day’ and ‘Chasing Ghosts.’”

The band has regularly shared the bill with national acts, from Faster Pussycat to Trapt to Local H and more.

“When we opened for Adelitas Way at the Hard Rock it was sold out, they had security around the stage and barricades,” drummer Dave Kerns said. “We had no room on stage and we were pressed right up against the fans. It was exhilarating and a scary experience for me.”
