Pittsburgh local music spotlight: Arden Webster
Written over the past three years, Arden Webster’s debut album “Flight Risk” encapsulates her “journey into young adulthood through my own heartbreak and healing” in a mix of country, folk and indie music.
“The album is largely a journey of self-discovery,” she said, “of getting so lost you in turn find yourself. It explores themes like heartbreak, mental health and hope.”
The lead single from the album, produced by John Beres, is “Haunted.”
“‘Haunted’ is a story of loss, and being followed by the memory of someone wherever you go,” she said. “Truthfully I think it encapsulates many experiences in my own life, and the weight that I’ve carried because of them.”
Webster is looking forward to some live shows down the road.
“There is nothing like the energy and connection that live music creates,” she said, “to tell my stories to strangers and for them to relate and find their own meanings in my words is such a beautiful experience.”
Webster filled in TribLive on what else we should know about her:

Founding story: I started singing before I could talk. My mom played a huge role in teaching me to sing and fostering my love for music as a kid. When I was 14 I started a YouTube channel at the suggestion of friends and family and began posting covers and original songs, and since then have steadily compiled a portfolio across several platforms. Artistone Records discovered me last year and we released the single “Natural Disaster” and have since been working on the album, “Flight Risk.”
