It’s safe to say Gucci Mane’s stage name is (finally) paying off.
Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane recently announced that he is hooking up with high-end clothes brand Gucci for a new collection.
The revelation comes after celebrities and others criticized the company in February after it reportedly released a $890 sweater that depicted blackface.

Born Radric Davis, Gucci Mane has said in the past that his stage name was inspired by his father’s nickname, which was “the original Gucci Mane.”
According to entertainment blogsite theJasmineBRAND, the Alabama native said that ironically, his dad never wore the luxury clothing.
“Being born in a small town in Alabama, my moms and my pops [sic] are both from down there. It’s real country down there and my grandmother gave my daddy a lil country name. She didn’t know nothing about them clothes,” Gucci Mane is quoted by the site.
The deal’s worth has yet to be disclosed.
