Rap legend Dr. Dre was rushed to an intensive care unit as a result of suffering a brain aneurysm, according to TMZ.

Dre, whose legal name is Andre Young, was rushed Monday to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where sources told the outlet he is “stable and lucid.”

The 55-year-old is a founding member of rap group N.W.A. and helped engineer the careers of Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Eminem, and more recently Kendrick Lamar as well as Anderson Paak.

He collaborated with record company executive Jimmy Iovine in 2006 to launch audio products company Beats by Dr. Dre. In 2014, Apple purchased the brand for $3 billion.

The star’s medical emergency comes after Nicole Young filed for divorce in June after 24 years of marriage.

Nicole Young is challenging the couple’s prenup amid their high-stakes separation, saying her husband previously admitted she was “coerced.” A hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday.
