A pair of concerts with local connections are among the biggest shows coming to the Pittsburgh area in November. Here’s a look at the most notable shows coming to the area this month:

Top shows

Nov. 5: The 1975, Dora Jar at PPG Paints Arena

It might be a while before The 1975 are back on the road, as the band announced it will be going on an indefinite hiatus after their current Still … At Their Very Best tour wraps up.

“I didn’t mean to scare any hardcore fans by insinuating that we were splitting up or anything like that,” he said in September, according to Rolling Stone. “That’s not happening. Don’t worry about that.”

The band has been in headlines earlier this year, first when frontman Matty Healy was rumored to be dating Taylor Swift. And then in July, Healy kissed bassist Ross MacDonald onstage in Malaysia and ripped that country’s laws, leading to the cancellation of the rest of the Good Vibes Festival.

Nov. 17: Ghost Hounds at Roxian Theatre

Ghost Hounds, a Pittsburgh-based rock and blues band, include billionaire guitarist Thomas Tull, a part owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The band, which formed in the early 2000s in Los Angeles, released a new album, “First Last Time,” earlier this year.

Spin Magazine called the album “a combination of gritty authenticity and immediately accessible and memorable tracks.”

Nov. 24: Bret Michaels at the Palace Theatre

Poison frontman Bret Michaels, a Butler native and noted Steelers fan, will perform the band’s greatest hits as a solo act.

Known for songs like “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” Poison sold millions of records in the 1980s. He also became a new pet owner, adopting a stray dog that had been named Bret Michaels by a Nebraska animal shelter.

“I’ve had pets ever since I was a child. Being diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of six, it is family & friends, along with pets, music, sports and incredible fans that have kept my spirits rocking,” he said in a statement to ABC. “I couldn’t work fast enough to adopt this husky and extend the awesome quality of little Bret Jr’s life.”
