Citing fan response, The Doobie Brothers have added nearly two dozen dates to the band’s 50th anniversary tour, including a stop in Burgettstown’s KeyBank Pavilion.

The tour kicks off June 12 in Jacksonville, Fla., and lands at KeyBank Aug. 6 before wrapping up in Memphis on Oct. 17.

The additions follow “overwhelming fan excitement” after the band’s recent surprise announcement that former lead vocalist Michael McMcDonald will join the North American tour, according to a release.

For the first time in nearly 25 years, four-time Grammy winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees Tom Johnston, McDonald, Pat Simmons and John McFee will be taking the stage together.

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will support The Doobie Brothers on all tour dates.

“Next year our tour will include Tom, John and myself, along with Michael McDonald, and the fans will have a chance to hear all our hits, as well as deep cuts and new material. I know these will be very special performances,” Simmons says.

Fans can expect to hear a wide range of hits, including “Listen To The Music,” “Takin’ It To The Streets,” “Long Train Running,” “Black Water,” “What A Fool Believes,” “China Grove,” “Minute By Minute,” “It Keeps You Runnin’” and “Jesus Is Just Alright With Me.”

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Dec. 6.
