The multi-Tony Award-winning musical “Hamilton” returns to Pittsburgh’s Benedum Center for a 24-performance run beginning Feb. 22.
Single tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 at trustarts.org.
A maximum of nine tickets can be purchased per account for the engagement, which runs through March 13. Tickets will range from $49 to $179, with a select number of premium seats available from $299 for all performances. There also will be a lottery for 40 $10 seats for all performances.
Details will be announced closer to the engagement.
According to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, which operates the Benedum Center, tickets for “Hamilton” or any other trust event purchased on a secondary site cannot be guaranteed. Tickets found to be sold above face value will be invalidated.
There is no waiting list to get tickets.
“It’s tempting to get tickets any way you can. There are many sites and people who are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets,” said producer Jeffrey Seller. “For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh engagement should be made through trustarts.org.”
“As the lights come up across Cultural District stages following an extra-long intermission, we are absolutely thrilled that the return of ‘Hamilton’ is part of our come-back season,” says Marc Fleming, vice president of marketing, communications and Broadway programming for Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “We know that Hamilton, along with other phenomenal events, will attract hundreds of thousands of guests to fill restaurants, add jobs, and bring an increased vibrancy to Downtown.”
“Hamilton,” billed as “the story of America then, told by America now,” tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton with a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway tunes.
The musical is deemed appropriate for ages 10 and up, due to some strong language and non-graphic adult situations. No child under age 3 will be admitted.
With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, the musical is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography.
“Hamilton” has a record number of Tony awards and nominations, along with Grammy and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
