It’s looking like 2024 will be another year of big concerts for the Pittsburgh region.

Topping the list is the almost annual appearance by Kenny Chesney at Acrisure Stadium. The chart-topping country singer, who’s already headlined the stadium 11 times since 2005, will bring his Sun Goes Down tour to kick off the summer on June 1.

The two other stadium shows scheduled are at PNC Park: Def Leppard, Journey and Steve Miller Band on July 27 and Green Day’s Sept. 1 appearance alongside the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and more.

Besides Chesney, there will be plenty of country acts coming to town, with Zach Bryan, Kane Brown, Tim McGraw, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean and Lainey Wilson already on the schedule.

The 1980s will be covered with shows from Madonna (rescheduled from August 2023), Bryan Adams and New Kids on the Block, while younger bands like Greta Van Fleet, Noah Kahan and Hozier are moving to bigger stages.

Two acts are slated to perform a pair of shows at PPG Paints Arena: rapper Drake on Feb. 16-17 and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band on Aug. 15 and 18 (rescheduled from September 2023).

Other genres are covered, too: Alternative (Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fall Out Boy), blues (Buddy Guy), rock (Creed) and heavy metal (Iron Maiden).

And, of course, there’s the return of Pittsburgh’s Donnie Iris & the Cruisers in March, as Iris is regaining his health after a battle with cancer.
