Channel One Sound System out of the United Kingdom will be playing this weekend in Pittsburgh, and all proceeds from the show will be donated to charity.

Featuring selector Mikey Dread and MC Ras Sherby, Channel One will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tech25 in the city’s Mt. Oliver neighborhood. They’ll be using the Steelyard Soundsystem out of Cleveland this time, after playing in a small meet-and-greet last year at the Get Hip record store in Pittsburgh’s Chateau neighborhood.

Channel One, named in homage to the legendary Channel One studio in Jamaica, formed in 1979 and is one of the U.K.’s best known reggae sound systems.

All of the ticket sale proceeds will be donated to hurricane relief efforts, with the event organizer working with the Brother’s Brother Foundation.

Pittsburgh DJ BusCrates will open the night. The venue will also host a Soundsystem workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. before the show. Tickets are available at tech25.org.
