Those listening to 3WS Tuesday morning probably heard a familiar voice from another station.

Val Porter, formerly of the WDVE Morning Show, announced Monday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she was joining iHeart Radio’s 3WS Morning Show with Jonny Hartwell.

A call to the iHeart Media office, which owns both stations, wasn’t immediately returned.

Comments from people on social media said they’ve wondered where Porter’s been the past week and that they will miss her presence on the morning show.

Porter started with WDVE as a music director in January 1999, according to her Linkedin bio, which also said she’s been on the morning show since April 2001.

She was a columnist for Pittsburgh Sports Report from 2007-10 and was a midday host for 95 K-Rock WRKU Youngstown from September 1992 to January 1994.
