Steely Dan is no longer opening for the Eagles at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday.

Vince Gill’s official website lists the country singer as the opener for several October shows, while Steely Dan does not to appear be performing again until November.

The IndyStar website reported that Steely Dan did not open for the Eagles this week. In a review Tuesday, the IndyStar reported that Steely Dan founder and singer Donald Fagen was hospitalized with an illness.

“The band, which was set to open Monday and Tuesday’s bill, canceled due to an illness,” the website reported. Steve Miller Band filled the spot.

The Eagles last appeared in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Arena on March 26, 2022, and performed the entire “Hotel California” album. According to setlist.fm, the group has played Pittsburgh 15 times since their first performance here in 1972 at the then-Stanley Theater (now the Benedum Center).
