The Westmoreland Symphony has scheduled its annual “Summer Sparklers” free outdoor concerts.

The first concert is scheduled for June 29 at Fort Ligonier, with the second following on June 30 in St. Clair Park in downtown Greensburg. Both concerts will begin at 7 p.m.

Conducted by WSO Artistic Director Daniel Meyer, the program will feature patriotic favorites, including the Armed Forces Salute, operatic and symphonic works and music from movie classics.

The tentative program for both dates includes:

• “Polonaise” from “Eugene Onegin,” Tchaikovsky

• “The American Frontier,” arr. Custer

• Music from “The Patriot,” John Williams

• Symphony No. 1 “Spring,” Schumann

• “Fiddle-Faddle,” Leroy Anderson

• Highlights from “My Fair Lady,” arr. Whitney

• Selections from “The Sound of Music”

• “Triumphal March” from Verdi’s “Aida”

• “Sing Along, America!,” James M. Stephenson

• “1812 Overture,” Tchaikovsky

• “Stars and Stripes Forever,” John Philip Sousa

Some bench seating is available in St. Clair Park. Attendees at the Fort Ligonier concert are advised to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain for the fort concert, the symphony will perform in the Center for History Education on site.

Although admission is free, donations will be accepted.
