The 2021-22 PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh season begins in October at the Benedum Center.

The PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh series will take up where it left off, after “The Band’s Visit” was forced to close halfway through its 2020 run due to the pandemic.

The Tony Award-winning production will return to the Benedum Center for six performances Oct. 28-31, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced.

“There is a poetry to starting where we left off, particularly given how this production rejoices in the way music makes us laugh, makes us cry and, ultimately, brings us together,” said Marc Fleming, the trust’s vice president of marketing, communications and Broadway programming. “More than half of the audience members who purchased tickets were unable to attend the show in 2020 due to the shutdown, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the show back to complete its run and raise the curtain again for Broadway in the Cultural District.”

The smash hit “Hamilton” also returns for a 32-performance run.

“We are also pleased to announce ‘Beautiful — The Carole King Musical’ will be added as a season special in March 2022,” Fleming said.

Following “The Band’s Visit,” the new 2021-22 PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh season includes:

• “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” Nov. 16-21; eight performances

• “Oklahoma,” Jan. 4-9, 2022; eight performances

• “Pretty Woman,” Feb. 1-6; eight performances

• “Hamilton,” Feb. 22-March 13; 32 performances

• “Beautiful — The Carole King Musical,” March 18-20; five performances

• “To Kill A Mockingbird,” April 19-24; eight performances

• “Ain’t Too Proud,” May 17-22; eight performances.

“Hadestown,” originally scheduled for the 2020-21 season, will play in November 2022 as part of the 2022-23 season.

Season tickets are on sale now, with seven-show package prices from $225 to $817. Tickets to individual events will go on sale to the general public on a show-by-show basis at a date to be announced later.

The PCT guest services team is in contact with existing PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh subscribers regarding seating options, ticket adjustments and special requests.
