Two local teens will be featured in a recurring Disney Channel segment, “Kudos and Kudon’ts,” for their creation of the Pittsburgh organization Black, Young & Educated.

Disney Channel’s Ariel Martin and Trevor Tordjman (“Zombies 2”) chat with B.Y.E. co-founders Nicholas Anglin and Treasure Palmer in the two-minute segment, which also features B.Y.E. members Auja Diggs, Jaiell Eleam, Tyell Eleam and Starr Wasler.

Anglin is a 2020 graduate of Central Catholic High School and Palmer is a 2020 graduate of Oakland Catholic High School.

“We won a community event contest [run] by Central Catholic Alumni,” Palmer said. “Our community event was a black business networking event. From there we started organizing other events for the youth in our city.”

The duo started B.Y.E. in 2019 with a goal “to create more accessible opportunities for marginalized youth and safe spaces that will amplify our voices,” Palmer said.

The Disney Channel segment is expected to air at 11:20 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.
