Pittsburgh Pop: Another WTAE-TV reporter departs; ‘Tiger King 2’ roars on Netflix
In this week’s episode of Trib Live Extra’s “Pittsburgh Pop” podcast, host Tim Benz and TV Talk columnist Rob Owen discuss Pittsburgh pop culture news of the moment, including WTAE-TV’s Shannon Perrine being sidelined by covid-19 and general assignment reporter Katelyn Sykes’ decision not to sign a new contract and leave TV news but stay in Pittsburgh (she has a non-compete clause in her current WTAE contract).
Benz and Owen also talk about the trailers for an upcoming Hulu series, “Pam & Tommy,” about the story behind the Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee sex tape, and “American Underdog,” the Kurt Warner story starring Zachary Levi, which will be in theaters on Christmas day.
Owen professes his admiration for Netflix’s critically-drubbed live-action “Cowboy Bebop” and Benz offers his reaction to ESPN’s latest Barry Bonds documentary.
