A bolt manufacturing company based in Carnegie Borough plans to expand its operations in Allegheny County, Gov. Tom Wolf said.
Nord-Lock Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Superbolt Inc., will build a new North American headquarters in Findlay Township that will house its manufacturing operations. The 125,000-square-foot building will sustain 37 new, full-time jobs and retain 110 existing jobs over the next three years, the company said.
“This new facility demonstrates our continued commitment to the wonderful Pittsburgh-area region, and we appreciate the support of our many partners, including the Pennsylvania Governor’s Action Team,” said Steve Greenwell, Nord-Lock Group president of Sales Region Americas.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, a group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and who work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. Additional coordination was provided through Allegheny County Economic Development.
In addition to its own $4 million investment, Nord-Lock received a funding proposal from the state Department of Community and Economic Development — $111,000 in job creation tax credits, to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs, and a $29,000 workforce development grant to help the company train its workers.
Nord-Lock Group’s brands include Nord-Lock, Expander, Superbolt and Boltight. Superbolt Inc., founded in 1984 in Carnegie, is the original inventor of multi-jackbolt tensioning technology, the governor’s office said.
