Polaroid launches the ‘smallest analog instant camera in the world’
Polaroid has announced the Polaroid Go, which it says is “the smallest analog instant camera in the world.”
The camera is 4.1 inches long, 3.3 inches wide and 2.4 inches tall.
The camera sells for $99.99 and is available today for pre-order and for sale on April 27. A two-pack of film is $19.99. Purchased together in a bundle, cost is $114.99.
Polaroid Go, the company said, is “designed as a wearable creative companion, with a miniature version of the classic, square format film to match. The new camera and film mark the most significant and exciting change to the Polaroid form factor in decades.”
Oskar Smolokowski, CEO of Polaroid, said, “Bringing innovation, product design, creativity, and a little bit of attitude back to Polaroid has been our focus ever since we took over as the new team three years ago. The Polaroid Go is our biggest contribution to this yet.
It is just really playful yet incredibly well-designed, and it’s going to make it so easy for you to bring a totally different camera than your phone with you wherever you go.”
The company said that as part of the launch it will work with artists on the “Go create” initiative that “brings together an exciting group of creators across artistic disciplines and global cultures to share stories of inspiration and creation
Initial collaborators include creative director and designer Quinn Whitney Wilson, who’s shaping contemporary culture through her work with Lizzo, and London-based musician Arlo Parks, frequently dubbed as Gen Z’s poet for her influential sound and lyricism.”
The collaborators will release “Go create” content through their social media and digital channels.
The camera is white and Polaroid said it “includes a newly developed selfie mirror, self-timer, longer-lasting battery, dynamic flash, double exposure, and travel-friendly accessories. The sky’s the limit, not the size.”
