RH — the upscale furniture store formerly known as Restoration Hardware — welcomed shoppers for the first time Friday in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood.

The company took over a four-story, 15,000-square-foot building at the corner of Walnut and Ivy streets, which housed clothing retailer Banana Republic until its closure in March.

RH now has two showrooms in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The other, at Ross Park Mall, has been up and running since 2017.

Along with luxury furnishings, the Shadyside store offers interior design services.

Design packages range from one-room makeovers to whole-home transformations requiring a minimum investment of $300,000 in RH products.

RH is part of small wave of new additions to the Walnut Street shopping district.

Last month, South Korean pastry and coffee chain Paris Baguette opened just a few doors down from RH.

Brandy Melville, the women’s clothing store known for its controversial “one size fits most” policy, is also on the way, with an expected opening in the first half of this year.
