Apple launched a new accessory for iPhone this month — and it’s already sold out before the holidays.
Called the “iPhone Pocket,” the product is a sock-looking sleeve that’s mean to carry people’s iPhones like a purse. It comes in long and short version.
The pocket, which is made by ISSEY MIYAKE, is being sold starting at $149.95 for the short version. The long version is $229.95.
Apple said it was inspired by the concept of “a piece of cloth,” and its 3D-knitted construction is designed to fit any iPhone and pocketable items. It has a ribbed open structure, but Apple said it fully encloses the iPhone when placed inside.
The iPhone Pocket can be fashioned in a variety of way, including using it as a handheld pocket, tying it onto bags or wearing directly on the body on one’s wrist (short) or as a crossbody (long)
Colors available in the short version include:
Lemon (yellow) Mandarin (orange) Purple Pink Peacock (teal) Sapphire (blue) Cinnamon (brown) BlackThe long version just comes in sapphire, cinnamon and black.
The iPhone Pocket, which is crafted in Japan, was launched Nov. 14, at select Apple Store locations and on apple.com in France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and the U.S.
Apple said the iPhone Pocket is a special-edition release.
However, the accessory is now sold out, according to the Apple website.
