D’s Six Pax & Dogz in Swissvale reopens after fire
Four months after a suspected arson fire led to its closure D’s Six Pax & Dogz restaurant in Regent Square is reopening.
D’s posted an announcement that it would open at 11 a.m. Wednesday on its Facebook and Instagram pages.
A worker who answered the phone there confirmed they would be open for lunch and dinner.
A fire in August caused the lengthy closure. A 28-year-old man is accused of setting fire to a recycling dumpster behind The Loft bar, which is above D’s, in a building on South Braddock Avenue. The flames spread to a telephone pole and damaged the restaurant.
According to the charges against Joseph Pepp, an altercation at The Loft preceded the fire.
Swissvale firefighters eventually put out the flames, but not before they spread to a telephone pole and the building, itself, police said. Pepp was later arrested in West Virginia. He is charged with three counts of aggravated arson.
D’s is in the Swissvale section of the Regent Square neighborhood that also includes parts of Edgewood and Pittsburgh.
