National Mustard Day has already squirted by this year — Aug. 3 — but French’s has brought new reason to celebrate.
It’s still summer, and we are still screaming for ice cream, so the mustard manufacturer has obliged — French’s Mustard Ice Cream. And some taste testers give it two cones up.
I do not know why @Frenchs mustard ice cream exists, but it is actually delicious #frenchs #mustardicecream pic.twitter.com/5dGX8J43pH— Alex Zalben (@azalben) August 1, 2019
There are always exceptions.

The neon yellow mustard may look like it ought to be squeezed across a hot dog or hamburger bun. Instead, it’s meant to be your dessert course, cool and creamy, maybe paired with a pretzel cookie, as French’s suggests. The limited-edition ice cream is the brainchild of French’s partnership with Coolhaus Ice Cream, a Los Angeles-based creamery specializing in unique ice cream sandwiches.

Alas, the new flavor was only available only in Los Angeles and New York City.
And that’s a little upsetting to some.

Intrigued? Whip up some of your own, the recipe is available in this video French’s thoughtfully provides.
Just remember to serve it cold. And probably skip the onions and relish.
